Job Description & Required Skills:

NSITE Software Engineer / Software Developer in support of the Software Engineering Directorate Indicium Product Office. Develop and maintain data collection, analysis, and visualization software for the Network, System Integration & Test Environment (NSITE) tool. Work with NSITE Systems Engineers to analyze customer requirements. Create detailed designs, develop new or modify existing software modules to meet requirements, and perform unit testing in accordance with project guidelines and processes. Assist with writing formal test procedures and the updating of training materials. Interact professionally with developer peers and other groups (e.g., testers, customers, quality assurance).

Required Qualifications:

  • C# programmer, specifically in the Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 or above
  • C++ programmer with working knowledge of object-oriented principles, sockets, and threads
  • Highly versed in modern practices of software engineering
  • Detail Enthusiast who understands how to take a requirement, generate a design, and produce efficient, robust, testable software

MDIOC Field Support Engineer - # 20180802-012

Position is located at Colorado Springs, CO – no relocation allowance available

Job Description & Required Skills:

Field Support Engineer in support of the Software Engineering Directorate Indicium Product Office. The chosen candidate will represent and operate NSITE (Network, System Integration and Test Environment) software, TRICS software, and OPDASH (Operations Dashboard) software. Software support typically involves Missile Defense Agency test execution activities (Flight Tests, Ground Tests and Wargames/Exercises). The candidate should also have the ability to perform hardware integration and maintenance, have a basic understanding of computer networking, and a general understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting validating configuration management documentation in support of information assurance certification and accreditation activities. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able operate with minimal supervision. The candidate will support from the MDIOC, Schreiver AFB, Colorado Springs.

  • Operate NSITE, TRICS and OPDASH software based on event support requirements (may require travel)
  • Support NSITE, TRICS and OPDASH Software field testing and reporting
  • Coordinate and interact with site personnel to perform hardware integration
  • Maintain configuration management documentation (Microsoft Visio) and verify system configurations
  • Identify system engineering requirements from customer goals and objectives

Job Description & Required Skills:

The Modeling and Simulations Contract Framework and Tools (MASC-F) program supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in performing Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and its intended uses. This includes: Concept Evaluation, Developmental Engineering, Testing and Verification, Assessment, Training, and Operational Support.

MASC-F personnel will support in the following areas.

  • Transition the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) development and sustainment from the current contract to the MASC-F contract.
  • Modify, enhance, develop, and sustain of the MDA Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) to meet MDA's evolving M&S requirements.
  • Maintain and evolve the OSF architecture and external interfaces.
  • Develop, modify and enhance other BMDS tools as required.

Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities. Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensure software standards are met.

The candidate will be working in an agile development environment and will be responsible for supporting elements of the design/sustainment/development efforts. The candidate should be a well-rounded software developer with broad experiences but with a focused interest and demonstrable skills in C++/Java. The candidate can expect to work closely in agile teams. The candidate should be a self-starter that is attentive to details and works well in a multi-disciplined teaming environment.

Additionally, the candidate will facilitate an agile team as the Scrum Master. Conducting team tag-ups, meeting with product owners, release manager, and scrum of scrums. Ensuring the team remains engaged and productive.
